My first project for Lonely Planet was in 1999 covering Kazakhstan for the Central Asia guide. That assignment led to me being one of the two authors covering the overland Istanbul to Kathmandu route in 2000 for Lonely Planet’s only edition of that guide. My travels in India have seen me cover principally the south of the country, covering Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, the Andaman Islands and the great metropolis of Mumbai.
