AUSTRALIA & SYDNEY

Sydney, one of my favourite cities in the world, was my home from 1998 to 2004 and I still return there often. I first lived there for a year in 1994 when I spent time travelling around the country, visiting everywhere from Perth to Darwin and Hobart to the Great Barrier Reef. Features I wrote were published in a range of local media including the Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and the Australian Financial Review. In 2003 I wrote StyleCity Sydney for Thames & Hudson. I’ve also contributed to Lonely Planet’s Walking in Australia, AA Adventure Travellers Australia and New Zealand and three editions of Lonely Planet’s Out to Eat Sydney.

“With all the insouciant swagger of a supermodel, Sydney strides on the world catwalk, a confident beauty at the height of her seductive powers. There she is flaunting the off-white sails of her Opera House and the sweeping steel girders of her Harbour Bridge, adornments to her justly celebrated crinkle-cut harbour. There she is again, splashing in the surf or soaking up the rays at the beach, a youthful, bronzed, toned Amazonian, decked out in the sexiest of swimwear, appealing to every sexual persuasion. One wonders how she does it, especially when there’s so many delicious dining and drinking opportunities, Sydney practically being the culinary capital of the southern hemisphere”
